HELLO!

 

I'm Amy. I'm the creator of Pretty Palm Tree and the artist, hand-letterer and graphic designer behind all the PPT content.  I am based in Australia, on Queensland's central coast where the surrounding beautiful bush and beach create the perfect backdrop for a creative design studio!

Growing up on Sydney's Northern Beaches, I loved exploring the beach and bush and have always enjoyed anything creative – painting, cooking, interior styling and gardening.

 

Graduating from a Bachelor of Design at UNSW, I worked in Sydney for 9 years as a Designer at Real Living Magazine, Australian House & Garden Magazine and St Thomas' Anglican Church. Getting married brought me 16 hours north to beautiful Queensland, where I started Pretty Palm Tree.

 

On the weekend I love the simple things as well as the adventurous! If I'm not exploring local towns, beaches, waterholes or islands, you'll find me enjoying slow mornings making breakfast, riding my cruiser along the river (just to keep up with my 2 year old!), a morning at the beach on my paddle board or dinner with friends.

As for the name Pretty Palm Tree...

​

1//  I'm Australian east coast born and bred and have always lived near the beach. Much of my work is influenced by the coast and palm trees are everywhere here! 
2//  Palm trees are evergreen, dropping each frond they grow, but never all together! I hope this represents my learning and growing more and more in the creativity I've been given. 
3//  The Bible says "The righteous will flourish like a palm tree". It is God who has given me the gifts I have and has brought me this far and I trust he will keep carrying me and I will continue to grow because of Him.
